The Government produces an additional 6.2 billion of funding to support 50,000 new apprentices! apprentices

Everyone knows that a young motivated Apprentice can bring huge long term benefits to your buisness, with the support of a local college/training provider/managing agent your Apprentice will receive structured training which will reinforce the 'on the job' experience that he/she will gain from working for you.

However, sometimes you may feel that the possible beauracracy and added higher risk of employing a young person outweighs the benefits - but, there are lots of different options available when engaging an Apprentice, in fact they could already be your employee and they can join an apprentice scheme to access training and as an employer you could draw down a grant from ConstructionSkills. Or you could choose to engage a part qualified Apprentice that has lost his work placement - use the Apprentice matching service.

exclamationIMPORTANT NEWS IF YOU ALREADY EMPLOY AN APPRENTICE!

A new three month rule has been introduced regarding apprentices. It applies to non CSkills managed 3rd year apprentices. This means that if your apprentice was origninally registered on and has achieved their NVQ Level 2 and framework in two years and you decide to continue their apprenticeship education into a third year you must make sure that ConstructionSkills have been notified within three months of the apprentice starting their third year.

If you are not using CSkills as a managing agent but another College or training provider they may not automatically notify CSKills and so you will not be paid the attendance grant for year three. Call 0344 994 4422 to notify or find out more information.
